Ed Comer is a retired, environmentally conscious attorney. He served 20 years as Vice President and General Counsel (and 5 years as Secretary) at Edison Electric Institute (EEI), a large trade association representing electric companies, where he worked with all levels of government (legislatures, administrative agencies and courts) and the public.

Comer has considerable experience as a leader and is skilled at working with large groups and varied interests to bring people together and achieve consensus results. Ed also teaches Energy and Climate Change Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School in Philadelphia.

Comer is active in several trail groups, including the Coalition for the Capital Crescent Trail and Capital Trails Coalition, has volunteered for several civic organizations including AARP’s tax service for low income and retired persons, and is a graduate of Senior Leadership Montgomery. He has worked in downtown DC and lived in the area since 1974.
