DDOT to Improve Sidewalks Along M Street

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has given notice that it will be conducting a sidewalk improvement project along M Street in the West End. Work is scheduled to take place along the 2300 block of M, between 23rd and 24th Streets, and is slated to begin on or about Monday, January 6th.

This scope of the work to be conducted includes wheelchair ramp upgrades, sidewalk repair, new sidewalk construction, and the repair of curbs and gutters along the block.

Impacts to traffic and parking may be seen as a result of construction activities. At least one travel lane will remain open at all times and access to adjoining properties will be maintained, however on-street parking may be temporarily suspended. In that event, “No Parking” signs will be posted at least 72 hours prior to space removal.

Work will take place between the hours of 7am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday. The project is estimated to be completed within two or three days from initiation, weather permitting.
