ANC 2A to Hold Two Special Meetings Regarding the Aston Community Advisory Team

ANC 2A will hold a special meeting on Thursday, November 2nd from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct a test vote of a ranked choice voting system that the ANC will use to appoint the ANC’s two designated representatives to the Community Advisory Team (CAT) for The Aston. The agenda for the meeting can be found here. Please note that this will only be a test vote and no candidate names will be used while conducting the test vote.

The ANC will be offering the ability to attend this meeting in-person. The in-person meeting will take place in the conference room of the West End Library at 2301 L Street NW. Additionally, the meeting will also be held online via Zoom and can be accessed at the following link: https://bit.ly/ANC2AFirstSpecialNovember2023. ANC 2A will then hold a special meeting on Monday, November 6th from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm to conduct the ranked choice vote to appoint the ANC’s two designated representatives to the Community Advisory Team (CAT) for The Aston. The agenda for the meeting can be found here.

The ANC will be offering the ability to attend this meeting in-person. The in-person meeting will take place in the first floor conference center of 2445 M Street NW. As previously announced, during this second special meeting applicants will be given the opportunity (but will not be required) to give statements of up to two minutes in length. Commissioners will be allocated a set amount of time to make comments and/or address questions to the nominees. According to the ANC’s bylaws, the two winning candidates must still garner a majority of votes in order to be confirmed. This means there is a possibility the vote could result in only one or no winners.
