ANC 2A Announces Special Meeting on the Special Police Officer Enhanced Security Amendment Act of 20

Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2A announces that the commission will hold a special meeting regarding DC Council Bill B21-0529 – the “Special Police Officer Enhanced Security Amendment Act of 2015”. This is a matter that ANC 2A has followed closely over the last three years, and the commission looks forward to setting aside time for the Foggy Bottom and West End communities to discuss the proposed legislation.

The special meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the School Without Walls High School at 2130 G Street NW (across the street from GW Deli).

All Foggy Bottom and West End residents, including GW students, GW administrators, and the University’s neighbors, are invited to attend this special meeting. There will be ample time for community members to voice their opinions on the proposed legislation.

The “Special Police Officer Enhanced Security Amendment Act of 2015” was introduced by Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie on December 15th, 2015. It has been referred to the DC Council’s Committee on Judiciary, which is chaired by Councilmember McDuffie. The text of the legislation can be found here.

ANC 2A looks forward to hosting this important community discussion. Any questions regarding this meeting can be referred to the ANC’s Executive Director, Peter Sacco, or the ANC’s Chair, Patrick Kennedy.
