Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 2A is pleased to announce that Eve Zhurbinskiy, a Foggy Bottom resident, has been elected as the next commissioner for single member district 2A08. Eve will be filling the vacancy that was created after former Commissioner Peter Sacco resigned from the seat in May of 2015. Eve first submitted petitions to the DC Board of Elections to fill the vacancy on August 31st, and after the successful end of the public review period for the petitions yesterday, the Board of Elections has announced that Eve will officially be a member of ANC 2A. She will be sworn in by Ward 2 Councilmember Jack Evans next Wednesday.
Eve Zhurbinskiy is a current sophomore at the George Washington University, studying political science and history. She is also a member of the GW University Honors Program, and serves as an executive board member for GW Voices for Choices. Once sworn in, she will be the only current GW student serving on ANC 2A.
