Jordan Nassar

Commissioner Nassar, since 2021, is a newly-transplanted D.C. resident, having previously lived in multiple cities in Florida and Texas. He has personal interest in green spaces, pedestrian mobility, and neighborhood sustainability.

Commissioner Nassar has considerable experience in the general education field and is knowledgeable in disability advocacy and international affairs. As a member of several Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing organizations, he has demonstrated the ability and the willingness to educate and advocate on finding appropriate solutions to increase access for purposes of guaranteeing functional equivalency among different parties.

A graduate of the University of Houston and Florida International University with degrees B.A. in sociology and M.S. in mass communications, Commissioner Nassar previously worked with disability-focused NGOs and spent time traveling to other countries for cultural exposure and disability awareness. He lives in the Foggy Bottom/GWU neighborhood and enjoys various hobbies including, but not limited to, playing chess, participating in outdoor activities, attending performances, and exploring neighborhood gems.
